The Longest Flyover Construction Started

Today, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat launched the flyover construction route KaptenTendean-Blok M-Ciledug, South Jakarta.

"This is the longest flyover ever in Jakarta as one of the traffic jam anticipation," stated Djarot, Tuesday (3/10). 

He said, the flyover is only for Transjakarta bus lane due to the density of private vehicles along Ciledug-Blok M.

Flyovers will Be Built Above Railway Crossings and Crossroads

"We are focusing to the mass transportation to diminish the use of private vehicles. The traffic jam would not be decreasing if we did not diminish the citizens mobility with the private vehicles," he explained. 

According to him, the implementation needs the sacrifice from all sides indeed including the citizens who are disturbed by the construction which caused the traffic jam. "There has to be a sacrifice. We apologize for the inconvenience," he stated. 

Head of Jakarta Highways Department, Yusmada Faizal targeted the 9,3 kilometers flyover extending from frontier of Tangerang on Jalan Ciledug Raya to Jalan Kapten Tendean will finish in the upcoming December 2016. "We expected that the flyover could be used in the last 2016," he uttered. 

South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor told, his side has coordinated with Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate,  South Jakarta police's traffic unit, Jakarta Communications Department, and the contractor to anticipate the traffic jam caused by the construction which its budget reached to Rp 2.3 trillions. 

"We have coordinated with all sides. The traffic engineering will be implemented as traffic jam anticipation," he said.
