LH Agency - BEM UI Holds Folk Party on Tidung Island

The Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) together with the University of Indonesia (UI)'s Student Executive Board (BEM) held a folk party to close the UI Youth Environmental Action (UI YEA) program at SDN 02 Pagi Pulau Tidung, South Seribu Islands.

The YEA UI program has been running for the past week and is filled with various social activities.
Jakarta LH Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto, appreciated BEM UI who had successfully implemented the program. Such cooperation was expected to be sustainable in protecting the environment.

Through this Large-Scale Social Collaboration (KSBB), cooperation in protecting the environment would become easier.
"From this KSBB program, opportunities for cooperation are increasingly wide open," he said.
BEM UI 2023 Vice Chairperson, Shifa Anindya Hartono explained this people's party event is the closing of the UI YEA program, which is expected to give a good impression to Tidung Island residents.
"We want to repay all the kindness of residents and the government through this party," she admitted.
The party which carries the theme Peduli Lingkungan Pesisir (Care for the Coastal Environment) displays some creativity from students. It was attended by 30 people who showed traditional dances, musicals, and others.
"Hopefully, this learning can be our provision in society," she hoped.
UI YEA Executing Chairperson, Futari Vania Sakanti added his party held socialization and waste recycling practices to students at SDN 01, 02, 03, and MIN 17.
Aside that, a workshop on making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil was also held, planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings and creating a Climate Care Park.
