Car-free day program that was firstly held along Jalan Suryopranoto, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Sunday (3/15), gained a good appreciation from residents. Moreover, around the site, there are stages performing various Betawian arts.

Relaying on beritajakarta.com's data, at 6 AM, hundreds of residents crowded Jalan Suryopranoto to jogging. Commonly, they came with their family. 

The event is completely used by visitors through bicycling, jogging, playing futsal from Harmoni intersection until Cideng Timur intersection. While the rest enjoyed Betawian arts performances on the main stage. 

"I am so glad and support the event here (Jalan Suryopranoto). Besides exercise, we can also see Betawian arts with family," exclaimed Arifin (32), a resident of Tanjung Duren who came with his family.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara pardede claimed, the car-free day on Jalan Suryopranoto is more effective than Jalan Letjen Suprapto as it is sterile from cars.

"I thank all those who have supported this event, especially Transjakarta which have been willing to divert the route," he said.
