Together with Staff, Acting Governor Heru Tests Ride Jabodebek LRT

Approaching the inauguration of the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on August 28, 2023, Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono took his time to check operational readiness and socialize his staff to use LRT as a new public transportation option.

Together with representatives of regional apparatus organizations (OPD), sub-district heads, urban village heads, and rainbow troops (Environment Agency, Water Resources (SDA) Agency, Bina Marga Agency, Parks and City Forests Agency), Jakarta Acting Governor Heru tested the Jabodebek LRT from Dukuh Atas LRT Station, South Jakarta, headed for Jatimulya LRT Station, Bekasi, Friday (8/25).

"Together with friends from subdistrict and urban village heads, including myself, I invite PPSU to know that the Jabodebek LRT is already running, they can work using public transportation, including LRT," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

At that time, he also wanted to check the timeliness of the trip and a number of technical matters that had received attention from President Jokowi when testing the LRT, including the accuracy of opening and closing the train doors with the gates on the platform.

"We want to check the timeliness of the Jabodebek LRT trip, we also want to socialize that this train will operate soon. Then, there was a correction from the President regarding the opening and closing of the train doors that did not quite fit. Yesterday, it was tested by the Transportation Minister, which was quite good. The travel time is pretty good too," he expressed.

Regarding transportation integration around the Jabodebek LRT station, he explained, the Jakarta Government has coordinated with the local regional government to provide feeders (feeder buses). Thus, residents can more easily access trips to the nearest Jabodebek LRT station.

"I have ordered the Transportation Agency (Dishub) to immediately coordinate with the Dishub in Bekasi and Bogor so they can provide feeders. I asked that in Bekasi there could be 10 feeder buses, in Bogor it was adjusted according to the mayor's request," he explained.

Coinciding with the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, he also urged the public to take advantage of the Jabodebek LRT transportation as an alternative for mobility.

"Particularly in the framework of the ASEAN Summit on September 4-7, the Jakarta Government can also help, as there will be opening and closing later. So, those who still want to move to Jakarta for work or business, can use this LRT transportation. Therefore, the Jakarta Government is helping to provide feeders," he explained.

After enjoying the trip from Dukuh Atas LRT Station to Jatimulya LRT Station, he expressed his pleasure because the trip using the train went smoothly.

"The train ride is good and smooth. No notes and corrections, already good. Opening and closing the train door with the gate platform is also the same," he asserted.

As for the information, several officials were also seen at the locationz namely South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin; East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Mutmainnah; Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency Head, Satriyadi Gunawan; Safety and Security for KAI Director, Sandry Pasambuna; and Jabodebek LRT Division Head, Mochamad Purnomosidi.
