Dishub Promotes Goods Car Restrictions on Four Toll Roads During ASEAN Summit

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared a traffic diversion system in the context of the successful holding of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta on September 5-7, 2023.

It is slated to be applied from September 5 at midnight to September 7 at 11.49 PM

There will also be restrictions on the operation of goods cars on the four Jakarta toll roads during the ASEAN Summit. It aims to follow up on the Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) Head's Decree Number KP-BPTJ 221/2023 on Traffic Management during the ASEAN Summit on the Jakarta Toll Road.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo revealed the socialization would be carried out ahead of the ASEAN Summit, in synergy with BPTJ, West Java Transportation Agency, and Banten Transportation Agency, as well as Indonesian Truck Entrepreneurs Association (Aptrindo).

"The operational restrictions for goods cars are implemented on four toll roads, namely Cawang - Tomang - Pluit, Tomang - Pluit, Kembangan - Tomang, and Pluit - Kamal Muara. It is slated to be applied from September 5 at midnight to September 7 at 11.49 PM," he explained, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Wednesday (8/30).

In a statement signed by BPTJ Acting Head, Agung Rahardjo on August 28, it is stated that this operational restriction rule does not apply to cars transporting goods fueled by oil or gas, livestock, postal and money delivery, as well as staple foods, such as rice, wheat, corn, sugar, vegetables and fruits, meat, fish, vegetable oil, milk, eggs, salt, soybeans, shallots, chilies, purebred chicken meat, bottled drinking water, and animal feed.

Cars for transporting goods that are not prohibited must be accompanied by a bill of lading with provisions issued by the owner of the goods being transported, the bill of lading contains information on the type of goods being transported, the purpose of sending the goods, and the name and address of the owner of the goods, and affixed to the windshield to the left of the trunk transport.

Restrictions on the operation of freight cars will be stated with traffic signs installed by business entities in the toll road sector. Additionally, officers will be on standby to manage traffic during the ASEAN Summit. Violation of the provisions of orders and prohibitions stated by traffic signs, markings, and signaling devices will be subject to sanctions under Law Number 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation.
