Fakta Chairman: Acting Governor Heru's Performance is Quite Good

Jakarta Residents Forum (Fakta) Chairman, Azas Tigor Nainggolan said the performance of Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, was quite good.

Therefore, he deserved to be allowed to lead Jakarta before the definitive governor was appointed.

According to him, his one-year leadership period was very short to solve various complex problems in Jakarta, ranging from floods, and traffic jams to air pollution. But, his seriousness was very seen in overcoming these various problems.

"His leadership is quite good. Flood problems for instance, the most crucial thing that has been handled during his leadership in synergy with the central government has been a success through the construction of Ciliwung Sodetan (crossing channel)," he expressed, Tuesday (9/12).

To improve the city's air quality, the Jakarta administration has also taken several concrete steps. But, it also needed to get support from the public by using public transportation or environmentally friendly vehicles.

"Strict action against polluting companies has also been taken. I think these are important efforts that should be appreciated," he explained.

Then related to congestion problems, he continues to push people to use public transportation. In fact, he did not just take part in the LRT Jabodebek trial just once.

"I think this is a message that the LRT Jabodebek is safe and comfortable. Thus, it could be a choice for the community, especially from areas in the buffer zone, to support their mobility to Jakarta," he explained.

Even, through PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), he also committed to accelerating the procurement of battery-based or electric buses.

"Besides purchasing new electric-based fleets, efforts are also being made to convert existing buses to electric ones," he continued.

Thus far, he has also given positive value because synergy with the central government can work well.

"I think this is also important because communication and harmonization between regional governments and the central government can speed up efforts to overcome quite complex problems," he added.

He hoped that the regional apparatus organizations (OPD) could participate in accelerating, innovating, and making breakthroughs.

"I ask them (OPD) to act immediately if it is good instead of relying on Mr. Governor," he stressed.

What is no less important is that he also pays great attention to efforts to improve community welfare, including paying great attention to people with disabilities.

"Efforts to improve the welfare of residents are also carried out by involving the private sector. This is very good because everyone must have social awareness. "Persons with disabilities also get space to be creative and work and are often involved in policy discussions," he asserted.

He appreciated the steps taken to refresh the ranks of commissioners, supervisory boards, and directors at BUMD.

"This BUMD is also a source of original regional income through dividends. We hope that with the changes in BUMD, the company's performance can be better, both in terms of service and business functions," he added.

In overall, the percentage of satisfaction with his performance before one year in office was already at 70 percent.

"This achievement is very good, while there is still something that needs to be improved and that is very normal. Moreover, leading Jakarta is also not easy. Another thing that I think is a plus point from him is that Jakarta is maintained in a conducive, harmonious, and peaceful atmosphere. Besides that, the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta also went smoothly," he closed.
