City Presents MICE and Urban Tourism at TPO Asia Pacific's 11th SU

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf), participated in the 11th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization (TPO) Asia Pacific held in Jeonju City, South Korea from September 12 to 15, 2023.

TPO General Assembly is a platform for tourism promotion organizations throughout the Asia Pacific region to exchange ideas, collaborate, and discuss strategies to improve tourism development.

This year's general assembly will focus on the theme "Kota-Kota Global" (Global Cities) and aim to explore the potential of urban tourism in driving economic growth and sustainable development.

According to him, Jakarta would have the opportunity to present its diverse and exciting urban and MICE tourism offerings and highlight its position as a major tourist destination during the general assembly.

Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Lanjut Sarnuri delivered a presentation on Urban Tourism as a Tourist Destination in Jakarta and its Impact on the MICE Industry on September 14, 2023.

"The presentation reviewed the unique urban tourism experiences and attractions that Jakarta offers visitors by emphasizing its rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and culinary diversity," he expressed, as quoted by the editor from a written statement, Friday (9/15).

He explained his agency was enthusiastic about sharing Jakarta's tourism potential at the 11th TPO General Assembly.

"Jakarta is a meeting place for various cultures that offers unique experiences for visitors," he added.

His party invited all participants and media representatives to visit the Jakarta exhibition stand at the TPO General Assembly to learn more about the city's urban tourism initiatives and engage in fruitful discussions.

"We hope to strengthen cooperation with other global cities and contribute to urban tourism growth," he hoped.

As for the information, the TPO directors announced that Sanya in China was selected as the TPO host at the next forum. This upcoming event will be a new beginning as TPO will expand its promotional network to the global stage, reflecting an expanded focus on promoting tourism in major cities around the world.
