Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) synergizes with Creative Economy Marketing Directorate and Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry (Kemenparekraf) to participate in the South by Southwest (SXSW) event held on March 10-19, 2023 in Austin, Texas, United States.
SXSW is an annual event that is well-known as a gathering place for global creative industry actors. The event features various programs such as music, film, interactive, technology, education, and business conferences.

Based on Central Statistics Agency (BPS)'s data, exports of Indonesian creative products will hit USD 16.4 billion in 2022. It shows that Indonesian creative products have global competitiveness that has succeeded in penetrating the international market and can be an attractive choice.
Indonesia presented nine delegates, five of whom were technology and creative industry actors who were industry actors assisted by Jakarta Disparekraf, namely Alatte Beauty, Aruvana, GoPlay, Horology Story, and Sermorpheus.
Jakarta Disparekraf Secretary, Helma Dahlia added that this participation would bring benefits to Jakarta in promotion, investment, and international cooperation, including bringing inspiration and new insights for the development of the city of Jakarta going forward.
"Herein, Jakarta brings the spirit of creative and technological industry innovation that can keep up with world developments, by increasing capabilities and quality to become increasingly competitive," he explained, who accompanied the delegates at the 2023 SXSW event.
He added this event also aims to expand the cooperation network, increase partnerships with global industry players, and open up new opportunities to increase exports of Indonesian creative products in the international market, thereby strengthening Jakarta's position as a center for creativity and technological innovation in Asia.
