Hundreds of RW 07 residents, Duri Kosambi Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, West Jakarta demonstrated at Rawabuaya Railways Crossing, Thursday (3/19). They requested PT KAI to provide a portal on the railways crossing due to accident-prone.

We have no authority to provide the portal on the location but the ministry does

Rohmad (55), a resident of RT 01/07, Duri Kosambi Urban Village, such demonstration was held due to the railways crossing is always crowded thus it is prone to accident.

Currently, the railways crossing is the only way since the crossing railways under JORR W1 toll was closed. However, there is no portal on rawabuaya railways crossing.

"There have been 2 accidents occured 2 days ago (Rawabuaya railways crossing). The first, a car and a motorist with his child were dead hit by a train. We hoped there is no more victims as PT KAI still haven't installed the portal untill now," said Rohmad, Thursday (3/19).

The residents closed the  railways crossing as the demonstration action thus made the commuter line Tangerang-Jakarta was stopped.

Head of PT KAI Public Relations Operation Regional I (Daops I)), Bambang Setyo Prayitno stated, the existence of the  railways crossing is a crossing plot.

According to Agus, it accordance to law No. 23/2007 on railways, the authority is on the Communications Department not PT KAI. "We have no authority to provide the portal on the location but the ministry does," he disclosed.
