The water channel construction located on Jalan Sili 1, RT 15/12 Penjagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, which has been ongoing since last November, is targeted for completion by the end of this year.
Penjaringan Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Pendi said the channel was made to smoothen the flow of water from residential areas during heavy rain.

He explained the channel was made five meters long with a width of 60 centimeters and a height of 45 centimeters using materials such as split stone, tidal sand, iron ram, and cement.
"It involves ten personnel every day. The work progress has touched 30 percent. Our target is to finish it in three weeks ahead," he asserted.
The work received appreciation from one of the RW 12 Penjaringan Urban Village residents, Dani. Hopefully, it could be completed before the rainy season.
"Hopefully, it can anticipate flooding," he stated.
