December, Gabions Installation along Agung Perkasa 8 Channel Completed

The installation of gabions locally known as bronjong along the Agung Perkasa 8 Connecting Channel, Tanjung Priok Urban Village, North Jakarta is targeted for completion by the end of this year. It has been ongoing since October 15, 2023.

Until now, the overall progress of work in the field has reached around 30 percent

Tanjung Priok Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Deny Tri Hendarto said the gabion was installed to strengthen the sheet pile from abrasion, as well as improve aesthetics and support the area as green open space (RTH).

"We see that this clean water flow is suitable as a place for fish to live. So, the concept is to support green open space areas," he said, Friday (11/10).

He uttered gabions in the form of piles of river stones arranged and tied with wire were installed on both sides of the edge of the channel for 200 meters out of a total length of 242 meters. Its installation involved eleven personnel every day.

"Until now, the overall progress of work in the field has reached around 30 percent," he stated.
