Heavy Rain, 45 Neighborhoods in Jakarta Inundated

Water levels in Bogor have risen due to rain heavy rain in Jakarta and its surrounding areas from November 29 to 30, 2023, causing the Katulampa Water Gate's level to rise to Alert 2 status last night, precisely at 8.10 PM. This condition caused inundation in several areas of Jakarta.

According to the Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the heavy rain had inundated 45 neighborhoods, or 0.15 percent out of 30,772 neighborhoods in Jakarta, at around 9 AM.

"Previously, 11 neighborhoods were inundated," expressed, Jakarta BPBD Executing Head, Thursday (11/30).

He explained the Jakarta BPBD sent personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region. His party also coordinated with the Water Resources (SDA) Agency, Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency, to uck up inundation and ensure that storm drains work well together with the local urban village and sub-district heads.

"We're targeting to handle it quickly," he explained.

He urged the community to always be careful and alert against potential inundation. In an emergency, immediately call 112 hotline number.

"Call 112, this is free of charge," he stressed.

Here are regions inundated after the heavy rains poured on the city of Jakarta:

- South Jakarta: eight neighborhoods

Pejaten Timur Urban Village: six neighborhoods with a height of 30 to 150 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing.

Rawajati Urban Village: two neighborhoods with a height of 70 to 80 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

- East Jakarta: 37 neighborhoods:

Balekambang Urban Village: two neighborhoods with a height of 150 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

Cawang Urban Village: 12 neighborhoods with a height of 30 to 160 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

Cililitan Urban Village: two neighborhoods with a height of 50 to 100 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

Bidara Cina Urban Village: two neighborhoods with a height of 50 to 150 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

Kampung Melayu Urban Village: 14 neighborhoods with a height of 30 to 150 centimeters. Inundation is caused by high rainfall and Ciliwung River overflowing

Then the area that has receded is Lenteng Agung Sub-district: one neighborhood.
