City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono emphasized that every resident of Jakarta must have the spirit of defending the country as the main pillar that makes the country tough and intelligent in facing uncertain situations.

The statement above was stated when he became an Inspector in the 75th National Defense Day ceremony at Lapangan Silang Monas Field on Tuesday (19/12). The ceremony with the theme 'Kobarkan Bela Negara untuk Indonesia Maju' (Waging State Defense for Advanced Indonesia) was attended by all Jakarta state civil apparatuses (ASN).

Reading out President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's message, he said National Defense Day is a momentum for levels of society to unite and contribute positively, for the sake of common goals in advancing Indonesia.

"The challenges ahead are unpredictable. We not only face physical threats, but also invisible threats. Pandemics, global conflicts, technological revolutions, and the climate crisis have had impacts and risks to the country's resilience," he explained in the Jakarta Government's press release.

Hence, efforts to defend the country must be the main task for residents in maintaining the integrity and integrity of the Unitary State of Indonesia.

It was not only related to the military aspect. More broadly, it was hoped that state defense efforts could be applied by all levels of society in everyday life.

"Every action, no matter how small, that is based on love for the nation and state, love for Pancasila and the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is a concrete form of defending the country.
