Dharma Jaya to Build Ecopark in Cakung

Regional Public Company (Perumda) Dharma Jaya is about to construct ecopark at its office area in Cakung, East Jakarta.

The ecopark construction confirms company's support to Jakarta Global City program as proclaimed by Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono.

Dharma Jaya Director, Raditya Endra Budiman, said ecopark construction has been planned since last year. It will be built above 1.4 ha of land, and estimated 150 trees to be planted there.

As many as 107 trees have been planted such as pule, trembesi, and baobab with diameter about 20 to 50 cm and 2 meters high.

"The company is cooperated with Jakarta City Park and Forestry to build the ecopark. As well as tree position, maintenance, and monitoring," he said, Wednesday (1/10).

Raditya added, in realizing a Global City, Jakarta Provincial Government wants to build a Jakarta that not only prioritizes infrastructure development that supports the economy, trade, service and financial activities as well as regional and global business, but also supports the development of an environmentally friendly city by expanding open green space.

"The construction of this ecopark is to support the greening program. The existence of ecopark is also a form of support for Jakarta as a child-friendly city and increasing water absorption. We need to support the healthy air quality of Jakarta by adding green open space," he added.

He continued that the ecopark will become resident's interaction area since it will be equipped with playground and sport facilities.

Raditya hoped that the presence of the ecopark will bring benefits to the people of Jakarta, not only maintaining groundwater, improving air quality, reducing air pollution, maintaining animal health at the Cakung RPH, but also providing public space for the community to interact with each other.

"People visiting the ecopark will not only enjoy the scenery and facilities, but also knowing and buying our products," he closed.
