Ahead of Asia-Africa Summit, Illegal Parking Lots Controlled

As an effort to smoothen the 60th Asia-Africa Summit (KAA) in Jakarta and Bandung which falls on April 19-24, 2015, Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department began to control illegal parking lots that could potentially interfere with the arrival of foreign delegations.

Prior to the event, the whole bus stop will also be cleaned and repaired on Monday (4/13), including pedestrian bridge (JPO) and road signs

Main Path for KAA Participants Cleaned

According to Muslim, Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, around 3 illegal parking lots will be controlled. They are Jalan Cilacap (Menteng), Jalan Palmerah and Jalan Kebon Kacang (Tanah Abang). This is because, there are some hotels and roads that would be used and passed by foreign guests.

"We focus on collector and connecting roads around the delegation’s inn. One of them is Jalan Cilacap, where we had announced some school sides not to park vehicles on the road in a long time," he expressed, Saturday (4/11).

Besides that, the sweeping is planned to be done on some roads used by Metro mini (minibus) as parking lot until morning. Some damaged traffic signs and road markings will also be repaired soon.

"Prior to the event, the whole bus stop will also be cleaned and repaired on Monday (4/13), including pedestrian bridge (JPO) and road signs,” he explained.

As for the traffic regulation, cooperation with Central Jakarta Kwartir Scout has been established to assist and smoothen the event. Officers and Kwartir Scout will manage traffic flow in the field.

"It is also our way to give convenience for state guests during the event,” he said.
