Jakarta Civil Servants Can Clock Out at 3 PM During Ramadan

The Jakarta Provincial Government has outlined the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) working hours during Ramadan 2024 AD/1445 Hijri.

This policy takes effect from 1 Ramadan 1445 Hijri

The new rule, listed in Presidential Regulation No. 21/2023 on Working Days and Working Hours of Government Agencies and ASN and Jakarta Regional Civil Service Agency Head's Decree No. e-0006/SE/2024 on Working Hours During Ramadan 2024 M/1445 Hijri.

Jakarta Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) Head, Maria Qibtya said ASN working hours during Ramadan from Monday to Thursday start from 8 AM to 3 PM with break time from 12 PM to 12.30 PM.

Then on Friday, they will work from 8 AM to 3.30 PM with break time from 11.30 AM to 12.30 PM.

"This policy takes effect from 1 Ramadan 1445 Hijri," she expressed, Sunday (3/10).

Referring to the circular letter, she explained that the provisions on working hours for the type and nature of work that directly or continuously provides services to the community for 24 hours, special working hours, or shifting provisions apply.

"Special working hours are set by the head of each regional apparatus or work unit following the provisions of statutory regulations," she explained.

He instructed them to optimize the role of their direct superiors to ensure their duties and the quality of service to the community could be carried out effectively, efficiently, and accountably.

Therefore, all ASNs are urged to run their duties and responsibilities according to applicable regulations.

"I also call on mayors, regents, sub-district heads, and urban village heads to ensure that services continue to run optimally during Ramadan while maintaining morale," she stressed.
