Assistance Disbursed to Inundation Survivors in East Jakarta

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and PMI disbursed assistance for residents impacted by inundation in five urban villages, Friday (4/5).

Acting East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Abdul Salam, said the assistance was disburses from last night until dawn in Munjul, Cibubur, Kalisari, Ciracas and Pekayon Urban Villages.

"Several areas were inundated due to heavy rain on Thursday," he said.

Assistance disbursed for Munjul Urban Village were 61 packs of 5kg rice, 61 boxes instant noodle, 61 packs cooking oil, 122 packs biscuit, 183 sardines cans, 61 packs ketchup, and 20 boxes mineral water.

For Pekayon Urban Village were 100 packs of 5kg rice, 100 boxes instant noodle, 100 packs cooking oil, 200 packs biscuit, 300 cans sardines, 100 packs ketchup, and 30 boxes mineral water. 

"Assistance were disbursed based on urban village's request," he added.

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency's Social Protection and Rehabilitation Section Head, Deni Triyanto, stated assistance for Cibubur Urban Village were 200 boxes food for dawn meal (sahur).

For Ciracas Urban Village were 300 boxes food and Kalisari Urban Village were 350 boxes with mineral water.

"It was disbursed to urban village offices to be distributed to the impacted residents," he stated.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta PMI's Public Relation and Communication Section Head, Agus Bastian, explained his side disbursed 1,200 boxes food for impacted residents at RW 04, 05, and 07 of Makasar Urban Village.

"Those areas were inundated by Ciliwung River's water," he explained.

For Cijantung Urban Village, Jalan Lebak Empang 1 RT 02/05, assistance given were two staple food packages, two boxes family kit, two boxes hygiene kit, two mats, and two tents.
