4,638 Trees in Central Jakarta Pruned

During January to first week of May 2024, Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency has pruned 4,638 shady and prone to fall trees in eight sub-districts.

Pruning is based on tree condition

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda, said this routine pruning aims to prevent fallen trees.

"Pruning is based on tree condition starts from light, medium and heavy pruning," she said, Monday (5/13).

She hopes residents will report to her side if there are prone to fall or shady trees in their environment.

Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency's Green Lane Section Head, Budi Hidayat stated in January his side pruned 670 trees; 137 light pruning, 313 medium pruning, 218 heavy pruning, and two trees were cut down.

In February, there were 1,389 trees pruned; 192 light pruning, 911 medium pruning, 275 heavy pruning, and 11 trees were cut down.

In March, there were 1,494 trees pruned; 325 light pruning, 925 medium pruning, 236 heavy pruning and eight trees were cut down.

In April, there were 869 trees pruned; 101 light pruning, 600 medium pruning, 165 heavy pruning, and three trees were cut down.

And in first week of May, there were 216 trees pruned; 64 light pruning, 129 medium pruning, 22 heavy pruning and one trees cut down.

"Totally 4,638 trees have been pruned," he stated.
