160 Physical Aids Distributed to People with Disabilities in S. Jakarta

During January - May 2024, the South Jakarta Social Sub-agency distributed 106 physical aids to people with disabilities in 10 sub-districts.

South Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Bernard Tambunan said the distribution of physical aids is a form of support to make people with disabilities feel empowered and able to work.

"We distribute it through social implementation units in each sub-district," he expressed, Friday (6/7).

Physical Aids Distributed to Poors on Two Islands

He explained several physical aids had been distributed, namely, child and adult wheelchairs, hearing aids, walking sticks, and tripods.

"We'll keep distributing it to poor people with disabilities. If there is damage to the equipment we have received, we can also accommodate it for replacement," he explained.

For people who want to apply for physical aid assistance, they can complete the requirements in the form of a photocopy or scan of their Jakarta KTP, family card (KK), PM 1 form, or relief letter (SKTM) from the local urban village, as well as a photo of the prospective applicant.

"Required documents can be submitted to the Jakarta Social Agency office, South Jakarta Social Sub-agency, or Social Unit in each sub-district," he explained.

He added applicants can also apply for physical aids to support disabilities through the official website of the Jakarta Social Agency.

"After being given physical aids, we also urge them to take part in training in productive economic businesses such as cake making and so on," he stated.
