Diskominfotik Prompts Residents to Create Positive Work with Artificial Intelligence

The Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency (Kominfotik) teams up with the STIE YAI and Indonesian Digital Generation (Gradasi) to hold the third Jakarta SOLID (Digital Literacy Awareness) Digital Literacy Seminar with the theme 'Creating Positively with Artificial Intelligence'.

This seminar is held to tell Jakarta residents not to misuse AI-based digital devices

This digital literacy seminar activity was held offline and online via Zoom meetings and YouTube live streaming. There were about 480 daring participants from various backgrounds, including disabled people who are members of Forkesi (Indonesian Special Children's Family Communication Forum). The seminar invited Alvidha Septianingrum, a representative of ICT Watch and Fitri Handayani from Gradasi.

Public Information Services Sub-Group Chair, Harry Sanjaya said the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very massive at the moment. Various AI-based digital tools have already spread on the internet and are easy to use.

"However, these AI devices are often misused by responsible individuals. Thereby, this seminar is held to tell Jakarta residents not to misuse AI-based digital devices," he expressed, Thursday (6/27).

In line with the theme, he explained the use of AI in everyday life cannot be avoided because it helps and makes everyday work easier, both in school, work, and in the community.

According to him, understanding how to use AI for positive work is very important for Jakarta residents. Therefore, Jakarta residents could create various creative works with positive messages using the power of AI.

"Understanding the ethics of using AI will encourage Jakarta residents to continue to work positively. By so, AI-based works will spread positive messages to everyone and the residents will be protected from using AI in unlawful behavior," he added.

ICT Watch Representative, Alvidha Septianingrum explained this collaboration is expected to have a significant impact on the younger generation to be wise in using AI.

"By studying digital ethics, we can build a safe digital space thereby increasing trust in the responsible use of technology," she uttered.

In line with that, Fitri Handayani said, AI only provides recommendations but users must remain vigilant in using it.

"Thus, it is not eroded and not replaced by technology," she closed.
