Dinsos Distributes 1,211 Physical Aids to People with Disabilities

The Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) has recorded that as many as 1,211 physical aids have been distributed to people with disabilities from January to June 2024.

Hopefully, it can support the daily activities of people with disabilities

Jakarta Dinsos Head, Premi Lasari said the distribution of aid was conducted by the Social Rehabilitation Sector and the Social Service Sub-agency in five administrative city areas, to support the activities of people with disabilities who needed it.

"Hopefully, it can support the daily activities of people with disabilities," he expressed, Thursday (7/11).

160 Physical Aids Distributed to People with Disabilities in S. Jakarta

He detailed, those 1,211 physical aids distributed were 261 units of hearing aids, 861 units of adult wheelchairs, 34 units of children's wheelchairs, 30 units of prosthetic legs, four units of walking sticks, and 21 units of tripods.

To get them, residents in need can apply by including a photocopy of the Family Card, a photocopy of the Applicant's KTP, Birth Certificate/KIA (if the aid recipient is a child), Certificate of Incompetence/PM-1 from the sub-district and a photo of the entire body of the prospective aid recipient.

He added the required documents were submitted to the Jakarta Dinsos Office or the Social Sub-agency Office in five administrative city regions.

The period for applying for assistance is one to three days as long as the administrative files are complete and stock is still available.

"Hopefully, this aid can improve accessibility and help the independence of people with disabilities, thereby improving the welfare and standard of living for them and their families," he hoped.
