City Secretary Reviewed Ciliwung-KBT Waterway Project

City Secretary, Saefullah, accompanied by East Jakarta Mayor Bambang Musyawardhana and East Jakarta Military District Chief (Dandim), Lt. Col. Bagus Tri Wibowo, did a review the waterway project of Ciliwung-East Flood Channel (KBT), Monday (4/27) night. The review was in outlet part (exit) located on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jatinegara. 

The house here is only two-story house, but the flat could be 14-story. Please be patient, you would get the flat as long as you obey to Mr. Mayor

Those three officials walked in box culverts up to 100 meters to see the project which its depth is about more than 14 meters. 

Ciliwung-KBT Waterway Construction Project Constrained by Becakayu Highway Piles

After reviewing for 10 minutes, the City Secretary and the entourage then reviewed Ciliwung Riverbank, that will be used as Inlet site (the entry of waterway flow), precisely on Jalan Sensus IID, RT 008/04 Bidara Cina. In this location, the City Secretary dialogued with some residents. He promised to accommodate them in flats if they are willing to be relocated. 

"Madam, have you ever imagined sleeping in flat?. Eventually, residents will get flats from Mr. Mayor. The house here is only two-story house, but the flat could be 14-story. Please be patient, you would get the flat as long as you obey to Mr. Mayor," expressed Saefullah to a lady who is on her house attic.

According to him, the city administration is currently finding solution to relocate residents to the decent housing. Like as Pluit, Ria Rio Dam, Cengkareng, and other areas that have been relocated to convenient flats. 

Hearing his explanation, the lady and the other residents, feel relieved. Residents who stay on Riverbank hoped could be relocated to the flat soon. About 11 PM, Saefullah and the entourage left Bidara Cina. 

"We wait for the city administration's promise relocating us to the flat. We are staying on the riverbank, already feel uncomfortable. As this area is often flooded when Ciliwung overflows," expressed the lady.
