Free Indonesian Flag Distribution Intensified in Seribu Island

Seribu Island Administration starts the distribution of free Indonesian flag to its residents to enliven the 79th Indonesia Independence Day.

Seribu Island Regent, Juanedi, said this activity is a form of mutual cooperation as well as a collective contribution from all community components.

"The distribution is symbolically done today through heads of urban village and sub-district. The flags will be distributed to resident and organization," he said, Monday (8/5).

According to him, the distribution of the Indonesian flag is based on the Letter of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 400.10.1.1/2152/SJ about the 2024 Indonesian Flag Distribution Movement, as well as the Instruction of the Regional Secretary Number 44/2024 about the Indonesian Flag Distribution Movement.

Junaedi asked the entire community to participate in flying the Indonesian flag for a month or until August 31. This is a form of instilling nationalism values.

"I hope all elements of society will participate in raising the Indonesian flag and decorating their environments," he added.

Seribu Island National Unity and Politics Sub-agency Head, Achmad Yani Rivai Yusuf, stated it is targeted that 2,000 flags to be distributed to residents and community organization.

"The distribution will be done in stages," he stated.

Meanwhile, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan, explained the flags distribution to residents will be run through RT and RW administrators.

"We'll try to make it more merrier this year," he stated.
