Transjakarta Celebrates National Batik Day at Tosari Bus Stop

PT Transjakarta in synergy with the Greater Jakarta's Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI Jaya) and Batik Putra Ningrat held a batik festival with the theme 'Batik for The World: Jakarta, an Advanced, Competitive and Sustainable Global City' on the 2nd floor of Tosari Bus Stop, Wednesday (10/2) night.

It was attended by Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (PPKUKM) Acting Head, Ety Syartika, the ranks of commissioners and directors of PT Transjakarta, and HIPMI Jaya Chairman, Ryan Haroen. Various interesting activities related to batik were presented in a unique and interesting way.

PT Transjakarta's Public Relations Department and CSR Head, Ayu Wardhani stated the series of events presented included a batik exhibition, photo contest, fashion show and music performances, as well as traditional batik making.

"It is intended to encourage the community to work together to preserve batik, which is Indonesia's cultural heritage," she expressed.

In the fashion show session, various batik creations were exhibited, ranging from modern batik to traditional Indonesian batik. This fashion show seeks to highlight a blend of elegant styles that are suitable for everyday wear.

"It can certainly be an inspiration for Transjakarta guests and customers, who like to follow the development of trends. So, besides mobility, customers can also get inspiration for contemporary styles, especially batik," he expressed.

Another interesting activity was batik making which can be tried by customers directly. This joint batik art was witnessed by Batik Putra Ningrat who is known for his expertise in the art of batik.

She assessed it could be a unique experience for customers who want to learn more about the batik-making process directly.

"We're happy to channel batik creations in the middle of the city, precisely above the Tosari Bus Stop. It was certainly a fun experience," she uttered.

She hoped that all of these lively series of events could further foster the public's love for the art of batik.

"Transjakarta is pleased to be a part and a forum for people who want to be creative and get to know batik more deeply," she closed.
