16,000 Runners Enliven Wondr Jakarta Run Festival 2024

Aound 16,000 runners from within and outside the country took part in enlivening the Wondr Jakarta Run Festival (JRF) 2024 from Saturday (10/12) to Sunday (20/13)

Last Saturday, the race competed in the five-kilometer and 10-kilometer runs. While today, it was followed with the half marathon and marathon. The entire series of events went smoothly and successfully.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah said it could be successful because of the support from various parties within Jakarta Provincial Government and PB PASI, as well as PT Komunitas Lari Anak Bangsa (KLAB).

"We also appreciate the police, GBK management, business actors, and the entire community who have supported JRF 2024," he said, Sunday (10/13).

According to him, it is neatly packaged with the concept of sport industry and sport tourism. It combines sports activities, economy or industry, entertainment, and bazaar.

The series of activities that started since Thursday (10/10), presented an exhibition of sports equipment and equipment products from various well-known local and foreign brands. In addition, dozens of fostered MSMEs in the food and beverage sector were also involved in the JRF 2024 EXPO in Istrora Senayan.

Aside that, every day various entertainment performances and artists from the capital are present on the activity stage. As a result, it is able to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

"Until the afternoon, I see the situation and conditions at the Expo location were still crowded, there are general public and runners relaxing. Hotel occupancy around here is also reportedly increasing," he explained.

Then the success of this event could be an example of packaging an event into an industry that has an impact on the economy and the city's image, while also supporting the spirit of Jakarta's transformation towards a Top 20 Global City.

"Various parties who want to organize sports events can follow this event as an example," he concluded.

Thereby, his party is developing innovation in the field of sports to support the improvement of infrastructure and welfare of sports people. The innovation he initiated as Head of Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency is called JAKASYC (Jakarta Sport Youth Cooperation) Dashboard.

This dashboard will map the infrastructure and various sports calendars in Jakarta, as well as improving the quality and welfare of athletes.

Through this dashboard, the party is open to all parties to work together to improve the sports industry in Jakarta, thus it can become an international-scale sports industry city.

"Well, one of the initial breakthroughs is to collaborate with KLAB to hold the JRF 2024  If it is included in the event calendar, it will also be part of the event promotion," he uttered.

He hoped that the sports infrastructure owned by the Jakarta Government would not only be a place to do sports activities. But it could also be a center for commercial, recreational and retail activities.

"Thus, it can have an impact on the economy through the sports industry," he stated.
