64 Vehicles Undergo Emissions Test in South Jakarta

Some 64 vehicles passing along Jalan RA Kartini, Pondok Pinang Urban Village underwent a random emission test held by Jakarta Environment Agency (LH). As a result, 11 failed the test.

South Jakarta LH Sub-agency's Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Head, Tuty Ernawati detailed the vehicles tested for emissions consisted of 18 gasoline-powered four-wheeled vehicles, 10 diesel-powered four-wheeled vehicles, and 35 motorbikes.
"10 motorbikes and one petrol-powered car are declared to have failed the test," she expressed, Thursday (10/17).

"Yesterday's free emission test involved 30 joint personnel from South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit and South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency," she explained.
According to her, it is one of Jakarta Government's efforts to improve air quality.
"Improving air quality is a shared responsibility. Good air will make us healthier," she explained.
The emission test received appreciation from one of the residents, Gusti (34).
"Luckily, I do regular servicing, so the motorbike is getting better and doesn't smoke too much," he stated.
