West Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency keeps speeding the dreging of Semongol River in Kalideres Sub-district area.

West Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency Head, Purwanti Suryandari, said the dredging of Semongol River in Tegal Alur, Kalideres is run by two kilometer and divided into three segments. First segment is Jalan Kapuk Kamal Raya-Jembatan Risma, second segment is Jembatan Risma-Jembatan Jalan Menceng Raya, and third segment is Jembatan Jalan Menceng Raya-Jalan 1 Maret.

"Now the dredging has entered the third segment," she said, Wednesday (11/6).

Purwanti added the Semongol River dredging has been running since May 2024. Her side deploys seven excavators; four big amphibious excavators, two small amphibious excavators, and one long arm excavator.

Hopefully the Semongol River will be able to accommodate more water during rainy season. It means inundation in Tegal Alur Urban Village such as at RW 01 Rawa Melati, RW 03, 13 and 15, and on Jalan Prepedan Raya RW 09.

"The Semongol River dredging is targeted to complete by the end of December 2024," she stated.
