"This minimum wage increase is in line with the Jakarta administration's commitment to maintaining workers' purchasing power and business competitiveness. With this agreed amount, hopefully, it can be accepted by all parties while supporting the realization of Jakarta as a global city," he explained.
Aside that, the Jakarta administration urged employers of their obligation to prepare a wage structure and scale in the company as a guideline for workers/laborers with a work period of one year or more.
The Jakarta administration would supervise and impose sanctions on entrepreneurs who did not comply with these obligations.
They also continued to provide policies to improve workers' welfare on a non-wage basis, and policies in a bid to improve workers' welfare from the non-wage side. This policy is given to workers/laborers who own the Jakarta Worker Card (KPJ) who have met certain criteria, namely having a Jakarta ID Card (KTP) with a maximum salary of 1.15 times the UMP, as well as other criteria following laws and regulations. KPJ recipients will receive assistance in the form of transportation services, provision of cheap food, JakGrosir membership, and personal education costs.
