Ahok Stresses Importance of Fair Leadership for Jakarta's Future

Former Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama believes that Jakarta will continue to develop and become a world-class megacity and a global business city. This is an unavoidable process.

Jakarta will continue to progress. No one can't stop it

"Jakarta will continue to progress. No one can't stop it, this city will keep growing as it already has a history. Jakarta will definitely become a megapolitan city. The question is whether it meets the requirements to become a megapolitan city or not," he expressed, when he attended the Bentang Harapan Jakarta (JakASA) event, at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (12/31).

He also emphasized the importance of social justice leadership for all its residents. The key to Jakarta's success is having a leader who is able to meet the demands of social justice.

"For me, the most important thing is we have rulers, officials who like to meet the social justice demands of their residents. That's the only requirement," he stated.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Jakarta administration for organizing JakASA and bringing together previous Jakarta leaders at this event.

"We must have the courage to work together to welcome the five centuries of Jakarta. We really appreciate what the Governor has done. Hope this good intention can be realized for better Jakartans," he closed.
