City Governor's Regulation No. 2/2025 Guarantees Protection for ASN Families, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Says

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), Bima Arya held a meeting with Jakarta Acting Governor, Teguh Setyabudi at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (1/20).

"The point is the implementation of Pergub No. 2/2025 is to tighten the existing rules,"

This meeting, which lasted around 1.5 hours, discussed the issuance of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 2/2025 on Procedures for Granting Marriage and Divorce Permits.

He emphasized that there are no new terms in Pergub No. 2/2025. According to him, this regulation refers to Law (UU) No. 1/1974, PP No. 10/1983 and PP No. 45/1990 and the Circular Letter of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"The point is the implementation of Pergub No. 2/2025 is to tighten the existing rules. ASN is not easy to get marriage and divorce," he stated at Jakarta City Hall.

He said that Pergub No.2/2025 actually provides legal certainty on the marriage and divorce process.

"So, it is not just a matter of polygamy. There are high divorce rates, family dynamics that need to be protected," he asserted.

Jakarta Acting Governor, Teguh Setyabudi explained, his side will continue to ensure that Pergub No. 2/2025 is well socialized.

"We are tightening the marriage and divorce regulations for ASN within Jakarta Provincial Government. The norms used as a reference in the issuance of Pergub No. 2/2025 already exist in the previous law to provide protection to wives and children," he mentioned.
