Over 30,000 Tourists Have Visited Monas

The Isra Miraj and Chinese New Year long holidays, from Monday (1/27) to Wednesday (1/29), is used by many people to travel with their families.

"Last Monday, from morning until 22: 00 WIB, there were 29,461 people visiting monas,"

One of the most visited tourist destinations in Jakarta is the National Monument (Monas), Gambir, Central Jakarta. Over 30,000 people were recorded visiting this place from Monday (1/27) to Tuesday (1/28).

1,022 People Visit Untung Jawa Island

Monas Area Management Unit (UPK) Head, Muhammad Isa Sanuri said that on this long holiday, Monas' operating hours are longer than normal days.

On weekdays, it usually opens at 06:00-16:00 WIB. However, on this holiday, the visiting hour is extended until 22:00 WIB.

"Last Monday, from morning until 22:00 WIB, there were 29,461 people visiting monas," he conveyed, Tuesday (1/28).

Of the total 29,461 visitors on Monday, he detailed, there were 11,669 children and 17,528 adults. In addition, there were also 264 foreign tourists who visited Monas that day.

Of the total 264 foreign tourists, he continued, 130 visitors came from China, 31 visitors from United States, 29 visitors from India, and 16 visitors from Japan. The rest were from Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Netherlands, Bangladesh, Italy, England, and Korea.

On Tuesday (1/28) from 06:00 to 10:00 WIB, there were 1,408 people visited Monas, consisting of 390 children, 1,004 adults and 14 foreign tourists from China, England, Spain, and Ireland.

"Usually, we open from 06:00 to 16:00 WIB. But specially until tomorrow, we will open until 22:00 WIB," he stated.
