Bidara Cina Residents Clean Up After Inundation Completely Receded

Standing water in RW 03 and 07, Bidara Cina, Jatinegara, East Jakarta has started to recede on Friday (1/31). Residents and PPSU personnel have also cleaned up the mud in the neighborhood.

Bidara Cina Urban Village Head, Suhartono stated, residents cleaned the mud by spraying it with a hose from Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency.

Handling Remains Continued as Inundation Recedes

"Alhamdulillah , the inundation has receded from last night and now we just need to clean up the remaining mud," he mentioned.

According to him, Jalan Baiduri Bulan RT 06 and 12 of RW 03 had been inundated since Thursday (1/30) at around 11 PM as high as 60 centimeters. At 1 PM, it rose to 80 centimeters and even 90 centimeters at 2 PM.

The standing water gradually receded at 4 PM and then completely receded at 10 PM.

"In this location, there are 90 families with 390 residents affected by flood," he said.

Meanwhile, Jalan Tanjung Lengkong RT 05/07 was inundated on 11 PM with a height of 70 centimeters. At 1 PM it rose to 90 centimeters and reached 110 centimeters at 2-3 PM.

Afterwards, it began to recede from 5 PM and completely receded at 10 PM. There were 50 families or 500 residents affected due to this inundation.

"Social Sub-agency still distributes 400 meal boxes to residents for breakfast and lunch, because they can't cook at home," he explained.
