Jakarta City Council's Commission D Legislator, Ghozi Zulazmi, appreciated the Weather Modification Operation run by Jakarta Provincial Government from February 1-6, 2025.

The effort must be appreciated

He assessed that the weather modification operation is right effort to reduce the disaster risk due to extreme weather.

"The effort must be appreciated since Jakarta has potential to face extreme weather," he said, Tuesday (2/4).

Ghozi supports the operation to be intensified maximally especially in several areas with high rainfall potential.

"The operation cost remains lower compared to disaster loss," he added.

Moreover, Ghozi stressed out the importance of construction and readiness of flood handling infrastructures such as water channel and water pump as it gives more impact in flood handling.

He reminded that the flood handling should not rely the weather modification operation, but must be based on well planning and run preventively.

"In fact, the operation is the right thing based on recent data and extrem weather potential," he continued.

Ghozi appeals residents to be ready in facing flood potential in Jakarta. Also maintain the environment cleanliness as well as water channel.

"The most important thing is maintaining health condition, keep documents in safe place, and prepare the basic needs of foods," he stated.
