28 Kilograms of Fresh Vegetables Harvested in Tidung Island Docking Area

Seribu Island Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency together with TP PKK Tidung Island Urban Village, Seribu Selatan Island harvested the urban farming. AS many as 28 kilograms of vegetable were harvested at Tidung Island Docking.

Seribu Island Food Security, Marine and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency Head, Nurliati said the harvesting is part of increasing the food security on Tidung Island. The activity is also a synergy of KPKP and TP PKK in empowering local residents to utilize their yard land.

"The activity was harvesting 21 kilograms of kale and seven kilograms of spinach. Then it was distributed to residents who attended the activity," she said, Tuesday (2/25).

She hopes the residents will remain alert the importance of fulfilling their needs through urban farming.

"We also suggested them to consume more vegetables," she added.

She stated that the sub-agency also routinely monitors the agricultural crops condition in six regions. Then also assisting farmers in vegetable cultivation techniques, proper fertilizer use, and pest and disease control.

"We need to ensure food availability on Seribu Island is well maintained. Then provide solution and technical support for farmer to produce quality harvest," she stated
