Floodwater Handling on Pari Island to be Completed Today

Blue troops of Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency are still handling inundation in front of Pari Island Community Health Post (Poskesmas), RW 03, Pari Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands.

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-agency's Clean Water and Wastewater Section Head, Rezky Arie Pranata explained, the inundation was caused by high rainfall on Tuesday (3/4), basin area, and unoptimal drainage system.

Residents Appealed to Stay Alert for Extreme Weather As Flood Recedes

"We have been handling it since yesterday, from draining the standing water to repairing the channel. We are targeting it to be completed today," he mentioned, Thursday (3/6).

According to him, six blue troops personnel and one mobile pumps were deployed to handle the 10-15 centimeters inundation.

"Yesterday, we also drained the inundation at Pasir Perawan Beach, RT 01/03 and residential areas at RT 04/03," he added.

Meanwhile, Pari Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Adriansyah appreciated the quick response of the blue troops in handling the inundation.

"This quick handling is expected to be completed soon so that it doesn't disrupt the mobility of people who need health services," he said.
