As many as 80 participants representing regional working units, academics, and culture partners, Monday (3/17), attended the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of the Roadmap for the Advancement of Jakarta Culture.

The activity initiated by Jakarta Culture Agency was opened by Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno, at Ki Hajara Dewantoro Auditorium of Jakarta Education Agency Building, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Kuningan Timur Urban Village, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

Rano said this discussion is a stage in the preparation of a strategic document for the advancement of culture in Jakarta.

"As a city that is the meeting point for various cultures in the archipelago, cultural development has a crucial role for Jakarta as a city that is the meeting point for various cultures in the archipelago, and

Rano added in order to strengthen Jakarta's attractive character at the international level, preservation and development of Betawi culture is part of the city's cultural wealth and a strategic step.

Rano continued the Jakarta Cultural Advancement Roadmap is designed to realize the plan as a strategic guide integrated into the Jakarta Province Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD).

Rano hopes that the results of this discussion will be formulated in the form of a roadmap document for advancing culture in Jakarta, while strengthening the role of culture in building a harmonious national life and improving people's welfare.

His side expected to formulate effective policies and strategies based on the forum input. Then it aims to encourage efforts to advance Jakarta Culture that focus on increasing Jakarta's cultural development index (IPK), Jakarta's Global City Index ranking by strengthening cultural identity as a city attraction.

Next are focus on preserving and optimizing the use of cultural advancement objects, focus on the realization of sustainable and independent culture.

"As our effort in strengthening commitment and concern for cultural issues, this discussion is an important momentum. Especially in developing the cultural ecosystem in Jakarta," Rano added.

Acting Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Mochamad Miftahulloh Tamary, explained this activity has several objectives, such as identifying key issues in the advancement of Jakarta Culture, collecting input from stakeholders regarding policy direction, and formulating strategies and concrete steps in the Jakarta Cultural Advancement Roadmap.

"It is hoped today's discussion can produce recommendations that are useful for the advancement of Jakarta Culture," he hoped.
