Integrated Flats Project Intensified in Jakarta as Problem-Solving

Jakarta Provincial Government and PT KAI are about to build the integrated flats on three empty lands belonging PT KAI. The cooperation is started by signing agreement note between both parties.

For the land still belongs to PT KAI, we will only build the flat which is going to be ours

Head of Law Service Division for Jakarta Government Law Bureau, Solafide Sihite stated the land asset is still owned by PT KAI. While Jakarta government only owns the building on such lands.

"For the land still belongs to PT KAI, we will only build the flat which is going to be ours," he stated, when he was contacted, Friday (6/12).

New Flats Around Kampung Bandan & Manggarai Stations

Sihite disclosed formerly, the asset matter had been controversy. But, both agreed will solve city matter together.

"It's mutual commitment. The agreement aims to solve problem together," he disclosed.

Such cooperation was initiated by former of Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo on October 1, 2014. At least, the flats would be built in Kampung Bandan, Tanah Abang, and Manggarai.

In the agreement listed, if there is land dispute, PT KAI will solve it first. Thus there would be no dispute when the government built the flats.

"If there is land dispute, PT KAI will solve it in advance. So we will just build the flat," he expressed.

Besides flats construction, the cooperation also aims to arrange the residential alongside railroads, that is by building a park and a green belt. It can also add green open space (RTH) in the city that does not meet target yet.

As known, a while ago, Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama had reviewed a 3,2 hectare-wide land owned by PT KAI in Kampung Bandan, North Jakarta. The land was planned to be used for integrated flats that dedicated to local citizens living at the edge of railroads.
