As the long Eid holiday approaches, many pet owners are looking for secure and reliable pet boarding options.
“We recommend that pet owners entrust their pets to verified veterinary clinics, pet hotels, pet shops, or pet hospitals,” said Suharini Eliawati, Head of Jakarta KPKP Agency, on Tuesday (3/25).
Jakarta Govt Ensures Firefighters Are on Full Alert Ahead of Eid 2025She mentioned that her party has coordinated with veterinary clinics, pet hotels, pet shops, and pet hospitals to ensure proper management of boarding services during the Eid holiday.
“With proper preparation, pet owners can enjoy the Eid holidays peacefully without worrying about the well-being of their pets,” she said.
Here are some important things to consider before sending your pet to pet boarding facility:
1. Complete Vaccination
Pet boarding facilities often accommodate many animals from different owners. Although cleanliness is maintained, there is still a risk of disease transmission between animals, especially those caused by viruses. You wouldn't want your healthy pet to become sick after being boarded. Therefore, ensure that your pet has received its full vaccinations before being boarded.
2. Choose a Trusted Boarding Facility
To ensure that your cat or dog is in safe hands while you're away for the holidays, make sure the pet boarding facility has a good reputation and adequate facilities, rather than just offering low prices. Gather as much information as possible about the facilities you're considering and, if necessary, visit them in person to check the actual conditions. Additionally, choose a facility that provides veterinary services, so your pet's health can be closely monitored during their stay.
3. Bring Your Pet's Favorite Items and Preferred Food
Pets tend to rely on their routines, so any disruption in their daily habits can cause stress. This can be a concern for pet owners when leaving their pets at a pet hotel.
To address this, bring along some familiar items for your pet, such as a blanket, toys, favorite snacks, or anything that is part of their usual routine. These can be left with them to help ease the transition.
"If pet owners follow these tips, their Eid holiday will certainly be much more relaxing," she concluded.
