Pramono Allows Newcomers to Join Skills Training in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Governemnt is open to newcomers who are seeking employment in Jakarta.

The government is also providing opportunities for newcomers to enhance their skills through training programs that will be held at sub-district and urban village levels, as well as community centers.

He asserted that the city government will not carry out any population operation, but will instead collect newcomers' identification data.
"We are not conducting population operations. What we are doing is registering those who arrive," he stated.
Pramono hopes that newcomers seeking their fortune in Jakarta will possess spesific skills or expertise. Moreover, he also expects each newcomer to contribute to maintaining peace, harmony, and preserving the positive aspects of Jakarta.
"The point is that Jakarta is open to everyone, but we expect anyone who comes to bring a peace, harmony atmosphere, and also maintain the positive aspects that already exist in Jakarta," he conveyed.
For information, the newcomers can report to the local RT and RW administrators and take care of their population administrative documents at Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Agency based on their domicile.
Jakarta Dukcapil Agency Head, Budi Awaluddin reminded newcomers to immediately report their arrival and take care of their administrative documents according to the applicable regulations. The population administration services provided by Jakarta Government are assurred to be free of charged.
Jakarta Dukcapil Agency offers administrative services from urban village, sub-district, city to provincial level which can also be accessed by newcomers.
His side will categorize newcomers into two groups: those who bring a Transfer Certificate (SKP) from their place of origin to settle in Jakarta, and those who do not intend to move permanently. Those who do not intend to move and handle their administrative documents will become non-permanent residents in Jakarta.
