Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, led the National Awakening Day 2025 (Harkitnas) commemoration ceremony at the Jakarta City Hall courtyard on Tuesday (5/20).

Reading the Communication and Digital Minister's speech themed "Towards a Simple, Inclusive, and Sustainable National Awakening," Pramono highlighted the importance of the spirit of revival in facing the challenges of the times, including technological disruption, geopolitical tensions, the global food crisis, and threats to digital sovereignty.

"Awakening is a continuous effort, demanding us not to be fixated on the romanticism of the past, but requiring courage to respond to the challenges of this era," he expressed.

In the increasingly strong currents of globalization, he is grateful that Indonesia continues to move forward calmly, maintaining a balance between openness and independence. Moreover, amid the world's polarization, Indonesia takes a position as a trusted partner that is free to determine its national interests and actively builds productive dialogue with various parties.

"This principle is what makes Indonesia respected in various international forums," he continued.

He added Indonesia's presence on the global stage is not just to voice national interests, but also to bring ideas and solutions that benefit everyone. In a world that continues to face uncertainty, Indonesia presents itself as a dialogue partner capable of bridging interests.

He asserted that the Jakarta Government has provided free health services to its residents. This free service is available in 44 sub-districts. His party also assists the community by distributing various forms of aid.

"Thus, the health issue that was the main focus in the Communication and Digital Minister's speech has been implemented by the Jakarta Government," he added.

On this National Awakening Day celebration, he also invited all ranks of the Jakarta Government and the public to keep upholding the spirit of awakening and work together to realize a stronger, fairer, and more civilized Indonesia.
