Central Jakarta Brings Betawi Culture to Life at Kampoeng Betawi Festival

The Central Jakarta Government, in collaboration with Central Jakarta Dekranasda and CSR Merlyn Park Hotel, is holding Kampoeng Betawi Festival from June 23 to 27, 2025.

"...with the spirit of diversity and love for Betawi culture,"

The event, taking place at the lobby of Merlyn Park Hotel, is part of Jakarta's 498th Anniversary.

Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin revealed that the festival is a moment to revive the noble values of Betawi culture, while also providing a platform for local artists and MSMEs to showcase and promote their products.

"Let's celebrate Jakarta's 498th Anniversary with the spirit of diversity and love for Betawi culture. Enjoy every moment, strengthen our bonds, and preserve this precious heritage for future generations," he said when opening the event, on Tuesday (6/24).

Meanwhile, Merlyn Park Hotel General Manager, Adolf Gustaf, explained that Kampoeng Betawi Festival is an annual event, and this year marks its third event.

"We've decorated it with Betawi culture theme and staffs are wearing traditional Jakarta attire," he mentioned.

During the event, he added, hotel guests are treated to various Betawi dishes and showed a variety of crafts from Central Jakarta Dekranasda.

"We are also ready to collaborate in other fields together with city government to help realize Jakarta as a global city," he stated.
