7,923 Buses Prepared for Homecoming Period

Jakarta Transportation Department is providing 7,923 regular buses to anticipate the surge of passengers during homecoming this year. Besides that, as many as 490 supporting buses consisting of 275 tour buses and 215 city buses will also be provided. 

The amount of AKAP buses this year is 2,469 buses, where it is increasing compared to last year, which was only 2,389 buses

According to Emmanuel Kristanto, Head of Land Transportation Division for Jakarta Transportation Department, from the result of coordination meeting between bus operator and related unit, the readiness of public transport during Idul Fitri this year has reached 100 percent. 

"We've coordinated with the Land Transportation Owners (Organda), Directorate General of Land Communications, and Internal of Transportation Department, such as Terminal Technical Management (UPT), Motor Vehicles Testing (PKB), and Transportation Sub-Department heads in five areas," he told, Sunday (6/28). 

Prevent Newcomers, Other Regions Must Be Empowered

Kristanto said from the coordination meeting result, the amount of public transport in Idul Fitri season is 7,923 units, comprising 2,469 buses of Jakarta intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) and 5,454 buses of Non-Jakarta AKAP. "Those 5,454 buses of Non-Jakarta AKAP are from Directorate General of Land Transportation," he uttered. 

He continued that 2,469 Jakarta AKAP buses are from 41 Otobus Companies (PO). Each company provides between 3-517 buses. 

"The amount of AKAP buses this year is 2,469 buses, where it is increasing compared to last year, which was only 2,389 buses," he disclosed.
