Parse Congestion, City to Build Flyovers Above Bundaran Semanggi

Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will build two flyovers above Bundaran Semanggi to provide alternative roads for vehicle passing from Jalan Senayan toward Cawang and from Grogol to Kebayoran Baru.

Jakarta Binamarga Department Head, Yusmada Faisal said, the project is still in planning process currently. "Yes, we still discuss about the design. We will manage Semanggi area in accordance with Mr. Governor’s plan," told Yusmada, Thursday (7/2).

Yusmada continued, later, the two flyovers will be built separating the lanes on Jalan Senayan-Cawang and Grogol-Kebayoran without passing on the road below which is usually jammed. "As example, the vehicle from Ratu Plaza toward Cawang can take a left turn to the flyover and go right directly to cawang," he explained.

Traffic Congestion to Shift During Ramadan

The project concept is intended to simplify the traffic at Semanggi area by making special access to turn right because the traffic is usually jammed due to the frequent meetings between two traffic flows at the area.

"The traffic jammed because the meeting of the vehicle that wants to go upwards from the bottom and from bottom to upwards. We will eliminate that condition by build this project," he uttered.

Yusmada added, his side still discuss about the Flyover basic design with Public Work Ministry (Kemen PU).
