Affordable Food Subsidies will Continue, City Council Chairman Says

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin ensures the affordable food subsidy program, which includes meat and milk assistance for residents, will continue. This was announced in response to a discussion at a meeting of Commission B of the Jakarta City Council regarding a Rp 300 billion budget adjustment for the program.

It will be re-budgeted through the Revised Regional Budget

According to Khoirudin, the adjustment is not a reduction or elimination, but only a change in budget timing.

"It's not actually a reduction, nor an elimination, but simply a budget shift. It will be re-budgeted through the Revised Regional Budget in September, October, November, and December," he explained, Thursday (10/30).

Optimizing Cheap Markets Ensures Food Access for Residents

Khoirudin emphasized that the adjustment would not affect residents' acceptance of the affordable food program.

He also ensured that the City Council and the Jakarta Provincial Government would continue to ensure that the affordable food subsidy program continues to run and provides benefits to residents.

"There's no impact. People will continue to receive assistance from January to August. We'll prepare the funds for September to December in the revised budget discussions in July," he admitted.
