Dozens of Satpol PP were deployed to discipline street vendors (PKL) and illegal parking in Sawah Besar Sub-District, Central Jakarta. However, there was something different in this control operation, the officers were not seen picking up the vendor stall but only give a warning.

This is sympathetic operation, we won't seize their stall if they want to be managed

The officers seen giving warning to all vendors and drivers to not sell and parking on road side because it will disturb vehicle and citizens that passing road.

Sawah Besar Sub-District Head, Martua Sitorus said, in this operation, his side prefers to use persuasive ways which is expected to be understood by vendors.

"This is sympathetic operation, we won't seize their stall if they want to be managed," said Sitorus, Thursday (7/9).

Later, Sitorus added, his side won't give any tolerance further because it's in accordance with Bylaw No 8 Year 2007 about Public Order.

"We will control the vendors again after Eid Ul-Fitr and we also prepared relocation place for them, so they have no reason to trade here again," he explained.
