Massive Demolishment will Be Held in South Jakarta

A massive demolishment of illegal buildings in South Jakarta will be held.

Throughout this year, we have demolished 2,280 illegal shacks which are spread in 10 sub-districts

South Jakarta Mayor Syamsudin Noor stated, the demolishment is focused in some areas such as Bukit Duri, Menteng Pulo, Tebet Timur, dan Kebayoran Lama Selatan.

"We will demolish illegals buildings in Bukit Duri which is occupied by 379 family heads, Menteng Pulo and Tebet Timur 988 family heads, and Kebayoran Lama Selatan 339 family heads," said Syamsudin Noor, during coordination meeting related to Spatial Planning, Sidewalks, and Urbanization, in South Jakarta Mayor Office, Friday (7/24).

The meeting was attended by Jakarta Vice Governor Djarot Saiful Hidajat accompanied by City Secretary Assistant for Government Division Bambang Sugiyono and some related department heads.

But Noor was not detailing how many illegal buildings that will be demolished in those 4 locations. "The demolishment plan still keep being discussed," he told.

He continued, his party has demolished 2,280 illegal shacks standing on a 7,9-hectare land throughout January until July 2015.

"Throughout this year, we have demolished 2,280 illegal shacks which are spread in 10 sub-districts," he disclosed.
