Kramatjati Market Area Used as AKAP Bus Pool

The function of Kramatjati Market that located in East Jakarta reportedly has been used as an illegal terminal for intercity-interprovincial (AKAP) bus. At least, every day, the place is used by as many as 6-7 buses with destination to Central and East Java.

Mr. Le, (49), one of PO Bus Operators admitted the market management had given permission t him by paying Rp 100 thousand per bus to park. But after passing through a long discussion, he was obligated to pay Rp 3 million per month and only 6 buses could park and pick up passengers.

Those buses are from PO Kramatdjari, Zentrum, Bejeu, Shantika, Dedy Jaya, and Handoyo.

"Rp 3 million per month is cheaper than before, which was Rp 100 thousand per bus per day," he told, Saturday (7/25).

Responding this matter, Kramatjati Main Market Manager, Muhammad Salam admitted that his side receives money from PO bus party to park in the market area. However, he immediately sent it to the head office of PD Pasar Jaya.

"Initially, I refused it. But eventually I agree where they (PO bus) only use the market area during homecoming season. Moreover, I immediately send the money to the head office," told Muhammad Salam.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the buses usually wait the passenger near the east side of Kramatjati market entrance starting from 2-7 PM.
