An Elementary School Student Run Over to Death by Metromini

A 7-year-old Elementary School girl, Resti, died at the scene after being run over by Metromini (minibus) T41 (Tanjung Priok-Pulogadung) on Jalan Raya Plumpang, North Jakarta, Wednesday (8/5).

Based on the information gathered, at that time, the victim was about to go to school accompanied by her mother, Ani (35), using a Honda Vario motorcycle B 3058 UFJ. When passing on a mound of pipe gas excavation on the road, the mother allegedly panicked and lost control. 

At the same time, the metromini came at the high speed from behind then hit the motorcycle and run over her daughter.

"Seeing the mound, the mother panicked and swerved. Yet she didn't see the minibus with high speed behind of her," explained Manan (56), one of the witnesses. 

The victim died at the scene. While the driver immediately fled and left the metromini. 

"The metromini and motorcycle are secured to North Jakarta Traffic Unit," said Officer of North Jakarta Traffic Unit, Bripka Widi.
