Flood Anticipation, Water Channel in Pademangan Dredged

About 70 personnel Infrastructure and Public Facility Handling (PPSU) of Pademangan Barat Urban Village, Pademangan Sub-district, North Jakarta were deployed to dredge trash and mud in water channel along Jalan Budi Mulia, Jalan Pademangan Raya, and Jalan Pademangan V Raya. The working is aimed to free 15 out of 16 RWs in local urban village from flood.

"The flood does not hit RW 16, while the remaining 15 are flooded," said Royto Harahap, Pademangan Barat Urban Village Head, Wednesday (8/19).
According to him, the channel along those three streets are connected each other. The water is difficult to flow due to many trash and mud.
East Flood Canal Keeps Being Beautified"Today's water channel condition is full of trash and mud. The water is easily overflown up to 120 cm when the rain pours," he added.
It is hoped the street vendors controlling and water channel dredging could decrease the flood potency.
"We can't ensure the flood will not hit, but our works could minimize the impact," he disclosed.
