Land in Kemayoran for Flat Construction Approved by President

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), admitted that athlete village (kampung atlet) which is going to be made as flat is already agreed by President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo. It can be seen on a letter issued by State Secretariat (Setneg).

"The letter stated that the design is for flat, not for commercial," Ahok said, Tuesday (9/15).

The flat will be used for athlete during Asian Games 2018. The construction is run by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).

"In the International Olympic Committee, we have stated that we must accommodate 14 thousand athletes, and we have 7,200 units," he added.

Several facilities such as gas, furniture, and AC will complete the units. After the Asian Games, the flat is prioritized for middle class citizens.

"Later, the citizens must pay Rp 100 - 150 thousand per day," he continued.

The target, Ahok uttered, is to decrease the using of private vehicles during working days. "It is hoped no more thousand or million vehicles entering Jakarta at the same moment," he uttered.
